ABUS x KVERNELAND: Where Agricultural Innovation Meets Industrial Expertise
Founded in Norway in 1879, the Kverneland Group has been supporting the evolution of the agricultural world for more than 145 years by designing equipment and technologies tailored to the sector’s new challenges.
Its expertise spans numerous areas: tillage, seeding, haymaking, baling, fertilization, and spraying, in addition to electronic solutions and digital agricultural services. This diverse portfolio aims to improve productivity for agricultural professionals while meeting the demands of more sustainable farming.
Today, the Group has an international presence, with production facilities in several countries and products sold in more than 60 countries.
A Partnership to Support Production Operations
As part of its production activities, Kverneland relies on various lifting equipment to meet the needs of its work areas and handle loads on a daily basis.
ABUS supported Kverneland in this project by installing several pieces of equipment, selected based on the site’s characteristics and intended uses.
Installed Equipment
To accommodate the site’s various layouts and the specific needs of each work area, several ABUS solutions have been implemented. From overhead cranes to modular systems and jib cranes, each piece of equipment serves a specific purpose within the production facility.
- 5 ELK overhead cranes – capacity 2.5 t, span 24 m
- 8 ELK overhead cranes – capacity 3.2 t, span 24 m
- 1 ELK overhead crane – capacity 5 t, span 24 m
- 1 modular system with 2 EHB single-girder cranes – capacity 1,000 kg, span 4,880 mm
- 1 modular system with 3 EHB single-girder cranes – capacity 1,000 kg, span 5,140 mm
- 21 LS jib cranes – capacity 250 kg, span 5 m
A system designed for every work area
The variety of equipment installed allows for a precise response to the site’s various constraints. Overhead cranes move loads across large areas, while modular systems facilitate service to multiple workstations. Jib cranes round out the system for more localized operations.
This combination provides the Kverneland Group with solutions tailored to its daily operations, with the goals of streamlining load movement, making operators’ work easier, and enhancing operational safety.
This project thus embodies the convergence of two areas of expertise: Kverneland Group’s expertise in agricultural technologies and ABUS’s expertise in the field of lifting, brought together in a system designed to meet the specific on-site requirements.
